Hi, I’m Erin — Owner & Artisan at Harmony Home Finishes
My approach to refinishing was built on resilience, hard work, and a refusal to cut corners.
Where It Started My journey began out of necessity. As a struggling young woman with an empty apartment, thrift stores and hand-me-downs were all I had. Refinishing gave me a creative outlet to take discarded, outdated pieces and breathe new life into them.
The Leap of Faith After years of working in banking and service industries—holding down steady work through life's toughest chapters—I realized I needed work that challenged my hands and my eye for detail. I walked away from a banking desk to apprentice in high-end refinishing, dedicating myself to mastering the trade from the ground up.
Why I Only Use Professional-Grade Products Anyone can slap hardware-store stain or paint on a door, but without industrial-grade products and proper technique, it won't survive the elements. I learned early on that temporary DIY fixes only lead to peeling finishes and costly frustration. Today, I use only trade-exclusive gel stains and topcoats, engineered to stand up to heat, moisture, and daily wear.
